Lifestyle Crafts---Letterpress Cards

These cards were made using a combination of Wedding sets: L-PP-009-WD & L-PP-010-WD, as well as Baby set: L-PP-006-BA and a few of the plates that come with the Letterpress starter kit.

Card bases are just black & white cardstock, I did use the Lifestyle Craft letterpress paper though, it's thicker and the images come out cripser. I used Beacon Zip Dry to glue everything---love that stuff!

You know me.....I have to use bling!! I used pearls in sliver, black, & white, various ribbon, button & sequins, and the biggest rhinestone I had in my stash for the ring!

CMIT--St. Patrick's Day

I LOVE this card, because of the Celtic theme to it. The miniature Shamrock, Horseshoe and Pot of Gold are from QuicKutz (Lifestyle Crats), CC-Shape-05-Spring Shapes. They are cut out using Gold metal foil.

This card is more St. Patrick's day to me, the little leprechaun and his pot of gold. The dies for this card were just cut out on colored paper.

This is a wall hanger cut out from QuicKutz (Lifestyle Crafts) CC-Shape-6-023 Nest Tags die. I used a wood sheet to cut out the die, so it's more stable. This project is so simple it's a great project for a kid's craft. Once again I cut the dies out with the Gold metal foil.

CHA was awesome---the classes, all the people I got a chance to meet (not to mention all the Free goodies) :) It was an amazing experience.

I finally got a chance to meet Teresa, the owner of Creating Everlasting Memories (who I design for with "Creating Memories In Time,"), as well as other members of the design team. Everyone is so sweet and awesome, we have a great group!!!

I also got to meet Sherry Cheever and Starla Nelson, who I worked with on a previous design team. I'm so glad I finally got to meet you two! :)

Stacy Caron (Spellbinders owner) signed their Nestabilities book for me. It is awesome (and my sis is published in it).

Wow....I just met so many people. Literally, my favs from the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby-----I met those people!!! Wendy Senger (Tattered Angels), Marah Johnson (Creative Imaginations)-----and of course Tim Hotlz (Tim Holtz----duh!) :0 I actually got my picture with him, but it's on my phone.

Obviously there were more people than that, too many to name! It was an amazing time though at CHA, and all the stuff you walk away with----my suitcase barely made it under the weight limit, and my carry-on was more like a "drag-on." :)

Wow, can you believe it's January already? Time sure does fly! Well, it's the second tuesday of the month....so once again it's ATC Tuesday. Well it's the 2nd Tuesday of the month....so that means it's once again time for CMIT's ATC Tuesday!

So....ATC's are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (think baseball card). Note: All edges are inked and set aside to dry. After you've cut your base, add the CS image. Next add lace and ribbon. The photo corner is added with the 3D foam squares. Now just add your finishing bling!

Quick and easy...and cute! :)

I LOVE this card!!! And honestly...it was easy to make. The dies make all the difference. They can make a card look so beautiful and time consuming to make, when really it makes it a whole lot easier and fairly quick!

CMIT---RITA'S READY, SET, CREATE

Well, it's the first Friday of the month so it's time once again for my monthly tutorial for CMIT. I love this Santa stop sign, but had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do with it until I seen this door hanger and thought this would be a cute idea. This is even a project you could do with your kids/grandkids.

I apologize in advance for the dark photos. I started this project at night and since I took step-by-step photos, they are not the best, due to the lighting. But I think you'll follow along ok. :)

Not all supplies are listed in this photo since I added things as I went along) sorry!

STEP 1

Adhere paper to door hanger. Trim as close as you can to the edge and then sand. note: sand paper will work just fine for this if you don't have a file kit. Using an exacto knife, cut out the center circle and sand. Repeat on the other side. Trust me---it will bug you that it's unfinished, so just finish it! :)

STEP 2

Ink all edges with distress ink. Then add "present" to door hanger.

STEP 3

Cut out all dies being used (Stop sign) & (Santa). Color pieces if needed (Copic for Santa), and ink edges, let dry.

STEP 4

Assemble all pieces and add to door hanger. Santa has 3D foam squares behind him. Add any finishing touches (buttons).

I hope you like this project today, I thought it was something fun and different. :)

For her 4th birthday, my daughter, Deianeira wanted a Barbie cake. I tried my hardest to talk her into something else.....she is only 4 after all. What about Lady bugs, or Princess' or something? Nope! So, in the end it's a "Barbie/Princess cake."

This cake did not start off well. This is actually my second attempt. The first cake, after baking it, and letting it cool down, I discovered was raw in the middle! :( So, then it was off to Hobby Lobby to buy the actual doll cake pan. At first I tried using my glass measuring bowl (which I have seen done, I just don't know the trick to making it work apparently). The doll pan actually has a rod that goes in the middle to bake it evenly. Genius!

So with the cake made, I decided to take a short cut and bought pink (strawberry) icing, and edible glitter. You are suppose to use fondant, but I hate that stuff, so I actually made this harder on myself that it should've been. But in the end she loved it anyways!!! :)

CMIT ATC TUESDAY

It's the 2nd Tuesday of November so you know what that means----ATC Tuesday!!!

For today's ATC (Artist Trading Card) I used MME "Wonderful Winter" (stripe) paper cut to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2, " think of a baseball card. For the top of the card I used (Merry Christmas & birds) paper cut to 2 1/2" wide, then I just cut a "wave" at the bottom. I adhered that to the card, then covered my "wave edge" with Tim Holtz's gold stickles. Next I cut out an additional "Merry," and used pop-up dots behind that. The mini ornament die is from Quick Kutz "jolly" mini set. I cut the die out, added ribbon and used pop-up dots on that as well. Once it was on the card I used the stickles again, over the "burst." Finishing touches for my ATC card was the Rhinestone Bling, from prima "e."

So, all paper used is from American Crafts "Jolly" line and all dies used are from Quick Kutz "jolly" set. I must have been in a Jolly mood when I made these cards huh? LOL :)

These 4" x 4" mini cards were so quick and easy to make, I hope you give it a try.

CMIT

So I've had this tin can for awhile and I've been trying to think of something really creative to do with it.....and nothing! No ideas. I just have a plain white tin can. Then as I was walking the aisles in my local Walmart, there is a gingerbread house kit-----and BAM! It hit me, a gingerbread house tin, that you could fill with mini gingerbread men, 'cause it's a pretty shallow tin after all. So Thank You Walmart for inspiration!!! :)

So, to start you need a tin can, preferably white, but even silver would work ok. Now I love this paper pack from American Crafts "jolly," and for making a gingerbread house, it's perfect! I measured my tin, cut my paper to that size, and started rounding the corners. Gluing the paper to the tin is the stressful part, you have to get it perfect. I recommend using Zip Dry for this, you can slide it around a bit if you need to line it up.
Next I measured and cut my roof. I cut the scallops at the bottom by hand, trust me it looks better this way! But before you glue it to the tin, add your ribbon, so you can tuck in the corners. Deciding to add ribbon after you have it glued is not fun! It can be done though. :) To finish it off I added a bow and button, tied with hemp.
Now this is the fun part....playing with all the mini dies. They are all from Quick Kutz's "jolly" set. Aren't they cute?
I cut out the "tag" die from 2 different papers, and then glued them both to the tin, next I added the "gingerbread people" die (I had to cut 2 to get enough people to go across the tin). They are glued to the tin with pop-up dots. Now I went back and added small pearls to the gingerbread girls and large pearls to my tag. Note: You can buy prima e pearls that come in various sizes, in one package, or the "swirl" designs, and just cut them apart with an exacto knife. My last die used is the "Be Jolly" saying.

Making this tin was alot of fun, so remember.....before you throw away your old altoid tin can, think of what you can make with it!!! :)

My son, Caden wanted a JAWS birthday party this year, for his 8th birthday. Do you know how hard it is to find Shark stuff?! Impossible!!! :p I had people at the party supply store tell me "We have dolphins, do you think that will work?" Hmm...scary and dolphin just don't go together.
So, I used my cricut to cut out letters, and I made Shark fins by hand for his invitations. We made them postcard style, with all the info. on the back.

For his birthday card I tried drawing a shark, but it looked too cartoony, (think "Finding Nemo"). So we just went with the JAWS letters and the fin. "Que the scary music"

Caden really wanted me to sculpt a shark out of cake. HA! He gives me more credit than I deserve for my decorating abilities. In the end, my husband found a rubber shark that we stuck into the cake and "decorated" with waves and blood. :p
He loved it and thought it was great, so that's all that matters. :)

I forgot candles for the cake, so Caden asked if he could "rip the shark out with his teeth." Umm...sure, I guess. :p
I love this picture though, 'cause the shark on his shirt looks like it's jumping out of the cake!!! :)

This is the album & card I made for my cousin Dustin, and his new wife, Jenica's wedding. Love the colors: Black, White & Burgundy (red). :)

This is Spellbinder's In Spades Pendant S4-208 & In Spades Border S4-217. And Fancy Tags S4-235. This is one of my favorite sets to work with.

Lots of work (and burnt fingers)! :) But I love the way it turned out.

I made this card for my friend, (and new cousin) Jenica's bridal shower. I love Spellbinder's Impressabilities, this ones is Circles I2-1005. I covered it in black ink, then ran it through the Wizard. :) I also used Fancy Tags S4-235. I added some ribbon, and of course some bling!!!

CMIT ATC TUESDAY

Welcome to our first CMIT ATC Tuesday!!! ATC stands for Artist Trading Card, it's 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (size of a baseball card).

Background is MME Signature Christmas paper. Vintage image is from Crafty Secrets "Christmas." (I just cut out the image, it was already the perfect size).

Other items used: Tim Hotlz disress ink "Old Paper," and stickles "Diamond." Sheer ribbon and Prima E pearls.

Here’s the buzz…..The CMIT/CEM Design Team (Creating Memories In Time/Creating Everlasting Memories) will create ATC Trading Cards and publish them on the CMIT Blog (http://cmitonlineblog.blogspot.com/) for everyone to see, we will provide instructions, and material list to duplicate the created ATC’s. When I came across this ribbon die from Spellbinders S4-019, I knew I wanted to make a Breast Cancer ribbon card with it. (It's actually their "support our troops" ribbon, I just didn't emboss it, so that wouldn't show).
Since October is Breast Cancer Awarness month, I figured this was a good time to post it.
You can't tell from this angle but I actually cut the ribbon 3 times, and used pop-up dots between the layers. I have been looking for a stamp or "crystal words" for the breast cancer foundation, but no luck....so I ended up writing this and just accenting it with mini rhinestones.

All Tags, Dies and Stamps are from Quick Kutz. All paper used is from MME (cut to 2" x 3" to fit inside tag); all Distress ink is Tim Holtz, Scattered straw.

Gingerbread boy die, peppermint cut out (pop-up dots), small pearls and cream satin ribbon.

Star Belt Loop die, red satin ribbon & small pearls.

Tree & Tree Belt Loop die (op-up dots), cream satin ribbon, "from our home to yours" saying, small pearls.

Creating Memories In Time

I LOVE this paper line (Snow Much Fun) from "3 bugs in a rug!" Cute little penguins! :)

Card base is the reverse-side of the "Stripe" paper, it's snowflakes, cut to 4 1/2" x 9". Next layer is the "Stripe" cut to 4 1/4" x 4 1/4." The giant snowflake is from Spellbinders. It's their new 2010 Snowflake Pendant #S4-286.

For my snowboarding penguin and Winter fun saying---I cut them out from the "Snow words" paper. For bling, I added different size rhinestones to my saying and snowflake.

Creating Memories In Time

For this card I used Karen Foster's "Stocking's Well Hung" (card base 3 3/4" x 6"); "Vintage Sketch" (middle layer 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"); and "Vintage Letters" (cut out Main Image and Holly & Ivy).

All edges are inked with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink "Vintage Photo." Holly & Ivy image is cut out by hand and adhered to the card with pop-up dots. Gold pearls were added for some bling!

Creating Memories In Time

This is my first project for CMIT, hope you enjoy it!

So our challenge was to make a card topper using the Penny Black stamp that we chose. Mine is the tree here, it's called Fantasy 388OK.

Card base is a 5 x 6.5 ivory card. All paper used is from MME "Signature Christmas" line. Spellbinder's dies used are: S4-247 Labels 12, which I attached my ribbon to; and S4-235 Fancy Tags, which I stamped Quickkutz's stamp, HDB-08-stamp 1 onto. Ink used is Tim Holtz's Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap & Faded Jeans. I stamped my tree twice and cut it out, added pop-up dots between the layers and added pearls to the top.

Well, as the old saying goes: "When one door closes another will open"..... I have been priveleged to be a part of Just For Fun's Design Team, but unfortunately that has come to an end.
With that being said, I was chosen to be part of a new Design Team for Creating Memories In Time. I look forward to creating projects for CMIT and working with some other very talented ladies.

"Father Christmas"

For this card I used JFF's new Folk Art Santa E3451, Large Snow Pine G3437 & "Merry Christmas" sentiment. All are stamped using Memento's Tuxedo Black ink, and are highlighted using Color Snap's Smooch ink: Siren, Green Apple, Moonlight, Silver Fox & Azure; Copic markers: E01 Pink Flamingo& E29 Burnt Umber.
For the snow and Santa's hat I used "Snow White" Fun Flock.
Spellbinder's dies are: S4-254 Big Scalloped Square--small, S4-144 Long Classic Rectnagles--small & S3-148 Tags Trio.
Paper, ribbon & brads are all from my stash.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #25
(Orange, Olive & Rust)

"Corn Stalks & Pumpkins"

To start, card base is MME "Wild Asparagus" Noel Stripe. Solid cardstock is TPC Terracotta, Olive & Paprika.

I decided to make a collage, using my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and my JFF stamps: G3435 Corn Field, A3443 Standing Blackbird, D3419 Pumpkin Patch, A3422 Mini Tall Pumpkin, A3423 Mini Squat Pumpkin, AA3442 Eating Blackbird & B3428 Happy Autumn (saying). I then colored the images using a blending pen and ink pads. Pumpkin vines are highlighted with CS Smooch-Green Apple.

All edges are of course chalked with CB Chestnut Roan. Accents are eyelets and hemp from my stash.

When we were in San Diego we went to the Museum of Art.....and they had a whole gallery of Tolousse-Latrec's poster (paintings).

Does this look familiar? Just For Fun has a stamp of this. I used it for challenge #13 (Moulin Rouge).

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #22
(Orange, Olive & Brown)

"Fall Corn"

Sorry for the dark photo, this was taken late tonight...when I finally finished it! I have to post it tonight 'cause it's off to Vegas and Cali. tomorrow....

Card base is from (S.E.I.) "Dill Blossom" pack, one side is brown, other is orange, too perfect! I used (Spellbinder's) Classic Scalloped Border Petite S4-239 on it, and added some ribbon. "Happy Autumn" is a new saying from (JFF) B3428. I stamped it with (Memento) Tuxedo Black ink and highlighted it with (CS) Smooch: Pumpkin, Green Apple & Siren.
All edges are of course inked with (CB) Chestnut Roan. "Fall Corn Swag," is another new stamp from (JFF) E3440. For this image, I once again used my Memento ink pad, then colored it with (LA) "Twinkling H20's", *list at bottom of post. I also accented it with the Smooch colors listed above, as well as Gold Lame. The acorn top is (Copic) E29 Burnt Umber with some (CTMH) liquid glass over it.
After I had it all colored and dried, mostly, I cut it out using (Spellbinder's) Big Scalloped Oval small S4-252.

*H20's used: Sunflower, Yellow Rose, Persimmon, Orange Peel, Key Lime & Moss Green.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #21
(Blue, Grey & Yellow)

Crazy Cat

The actual name of the *new* JFF stamp is Kitty Power E3450...but I like Crazy Cat :)
My cat is stamped onto MME Dreamy 2 "On the Dot" paper, cut out using Spellbinder's Classic Square small S4-128, and colored with Copic markers *list below. You can't tell from the picture, but the cat is sparkly grey. I used my sliver Spica pen to trace all around the cat.
Card background is TPC Neutral Grey, on top of that I added MME Penny Lane "Robin's Egg" paper. Using Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Inverted Square small S4-197, I cut out a "frame" on the front of the card.
Wish Big! is a *new* JFF stamp as well, it's from the Sentiment 1 sheet UMS7018. After stamping my saying I once again used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the tag. This time it's Tags Trio S3-148. Now don't quote me here...but it's my understanding that all the new "little sayings" from Just For Fun fit into these tags!!! :) awesome!
Finishing touches are ribbon, button and *jingle*bells from my stash.

Baby Shower card

I made this for my friend Heather's baby shower. We're going to my hometown, Naturita, this weekend, for "Daphne's shower." Poor kid, the party is for her and she's not even born yet to enjoy it! :p
This is a pattern that I had to trace and cut by hand, then used my SU polka dots folder on. I added lace, buttons and ribbon to dress it up a bit.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #20
(Orange, Brown & Yellow)

"Sunflower Seeds"

So, first reaction to these colors was "Oh no!" But luckily my new stamps arrived....so I was able to make a fall card. Whew! :)

These colors are alot more vivid in person! But anyways...card base is orange, and I added green and brown as background colors. I know green wasn't one of the colors, but it needed something... This paper is all scraps from last year when I was making fall stuff, so no idea where it's from.
The sunflower stamp is one of Just For Fun's "new arrivals," G3430 Fall Floral. I stamped it twice using (Memento) Tuxedo Black, then colored it with Copic's *list at bottom. I colored all sunflowers twcie, since I cut out one set and added them using pop-up dots, to my card. "Fuzzy acents" are Flower Soft in Ivory (wheat) and Nut Brown (sunflower centers).
Sunflower seed bag is a brown paper bag that I cut to size, glued a baggy with sunflower seeds inside, and then sewed around it, to keep everything in place.
I added ribbon, hemp and a tag that I drew to the bag, 'cause it was a little plain. I used (JFF) UMS7000 Alphabet sheet to add "25 cents" to tag.
For my sign, I wrote "Sunflower Seeds," then airbrushed it with Copics and added some brads.

I am still not in the mood for Fall yet...but making this card was fun.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #19
(Light Blue, Brown & Cream)

"Gone Fishing"

For this card, the paper I used is all (MME) "Just Dreamy 2" Dashing Dots (brown) & Delightful Unique (plaid); and "Penny Lane" Free Bird (blue).
As always edges are chalked with (CB) Chestnut Roan.
The fishing girl is from (JFF) Pin Up Girls UMS7006, and is stamped with (Memento) Tuxedo Black, so I could color it with my (Copic) markers *colors used at end of post.
My "scrabble tiles" are from (JFF) Alphabet Sheet UMS7000. I stamped them with (SU) Chocolate Chip, air brushed them with copic markers and then added the #'s (from Scrabble). They are adhered to the card with pop-up dots, so I could "weave" my fishing line (thread)through the word "Fishing." I had intended to sew around the card, but I ended up dong this at 11pm last night, and I don't see too well to sew at night, so it is what it is! :)
Finishing touches are: brads, ribbon & button from my stash.

Now, in case you didn't know...the above colors are from Stampin' Up. Unfortunately, I do not have those paper colors; but I was able to find solid colors from Bazzill's cardstock and printed paper from Basic Grey's Euphoria line at Michaels, that I think match very well. All Just For Fun stamps used are from the Collage Unmounted Set UMS7002.

So, to start.....card is 6x6 (Bazzill) "Ruby Slipper," background stripes are (Basic Grey) "Bless," and I sticthed all around the edges. I actually dragged my sewing machine out and sewed on my card!!! I was so stressed...I cannot sew straight and I was scarred to death of messing up my paper; if I would've sewed any slower I think I would've been doing it by hand. :0

Next, I used my (Spellbinders) S5-002 Labels 10 to cut out both (B) Ruby Slipper, which I used (Stampin Up) perfect polka dot embossing folder on, and (BG) "Delirium," which I stamped (Just For Fun) "dress form" stamp onto, using (Memento) Tuxedo Black ink.

The (JFF) "hand" is stamped onto (BG) "Fields" paper and cut out. The (JFF) "Tag" is stamped onto (B) "Vibrant Blue" and cut out as well as stamped again with (JFF) "Altered."

All edges are chalked with (Color Box) Chestnut Roan. Finishing touches are: lace, ribbon, button, hemp & pearls...all from my stash of goodies that I have aquired, but have no idea where they are from! :)

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #18
(Purple, Blue & Green)

"Hats"

I will admit right now that I do not love this card. It did not turn out the way I wanted it too, but honestly I'm too sleep deprived to care. My daughter has been sick, so I haven't slept much the past 2 days---so glad it's a long weekend! :)

So, to start...background paper & ribbon are (SU) Bermuda Bay, so is the Rich Razzleberry paper that I used Spellbinder's Ric-rac diamond petite border (S4-243) on. The green is just some solid paper I had laying around. ah..recycling! :) I also cut the border die in green and cut it in half to use as an accent. Edges are chalked in (CB) Creamy Brown.
Stamps used are (JFF CB9039) Vintage Hat cube & (JFF D2971) Wearing Hats... Stamps are colored using Copic markers *colors listed below.
Finishing touches are a hat pin made from my (SU) pretties kit, and rhinestone accents added to the card for some bling.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE # 17
(Pink, Green, Cream or White)

"Roses"

Since the colors were pink and green this time I HAD to use my American Beauties (JFF H2247) stamp. :)

To start, I stamped my image twice onto cream paper using (Memento) Tuxedo Black. Next, I used my new Twinkling H20's (LA)*color list at bottom of post. I'm still getting the hang of painting with the H20's but I think it turned out well for my first time using them. I colored some of the leaves and the roses twice, so I could cut them out, and use pop-up dots behind them to add dimension to my card. All leaves were highlighted with Green Apple smooch (CS). Once the image was colored and dried I used Labels 8 (Spellbinders S5019) to cut it out. All edges were chalked with olive pastel (CB)----I used a new color. Can you believe it? :)
All paper, ribbon and eyelets used for this card are scraps from my stash. I'm recycling too! The green striped paper I used my Flourish Impressabilities on (I2-1009). It doesn't show up well in the photo though. For my finishing touches I added "Love" from the With Love... (JFF WB8009) stamp, using (CTMH) Olive ink pad. I used my (SU) Pretties kit to make the hat pin and used the half pearls as embellishments.

Stampin' Up projects

This club meeting was part baby shower part father's day. This is both the cards we made on Saturday. The baby one is a template that we traced and cut out with paper of our choice. I chose plain pink so I could see the detail of their new embossing folder, lattice. (I ordered it)!

The father's day card was a little tricky. None of us knew how to tie ties! It took a little work, and I still don't know if it's right, but it works!

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #16
(Green, Blue & Yellow)

"Just a Note"

I bought this unusual pack of notecards at Michaels for $1, and just recently found them again. Amazing the things you'll find when you go through stuff! :) So I thought I would use one for today's challenge.

To start, I cut my stripe paper to fit the card and chalked the edges. All printed paper is (MME) "Wild Asparagus" and chalk is of course Chestnut Roan (CB). Next I added some scrap lace and ribbon, from my stash, to card. Tag is "Standard Tags" (Spellbinder's S3-1028). "Just a Note" (JFF WB8010) was stamped using (CTMH) Olive ink. Scalloped Doily (JFF A3231) was stamped in the corner using the same ink. I attached the tag to my ribbon using more stash goodies, hemp & button.
Vintage image is from "Girlfriends" line (CS), I love what she says: "I only have a kitchen because it came with the house!" Some days I feel like that. :p I added yellow paper (no clue where it's from, it was a scrap piece) behind the photo for some extra color, liquid glass (CTMH) and more buttons.

Stampin Up exchange card

So, as I've mentioned before when we get together for our S.U. club meeting we exchange cards. The theme this time is "baby."

I LOVE this new "Baby Girl"paper line for Heidi Grace Designs! I used "Stamps" for the background; and "New Arrival" for the pop-up. I just cut the little birds out and added Bazzill's "Spring Breeze" green behind it to make it pop. Accents are ribbon, hemp and buttons. Surprisingly enough I didn't even use my Chestnut Roan chalk around the edges! I put one card together before I realized I didn't chalk it, but I decided it looked cute anyways. :p

Baby card

I made this card for my "cousin-in-law" Jen. When we have our Stampin Up club party on Saturday, we are doing a baby shower for her. And we get to see Kenzie Lynn too (the baby)! :)

The paper for this card is all from CTMH; accents are ribbon, pearls and liquid glass.

(Olive, Light Blue & Tan)

"Old World Map & Ship"

I found this "nautical" dimensional sticker from (PS), and decided to make a Father's Day card for this week's challenge.

Card base is Olive (TPC), with (MME) "Wild Asparagus" 'Father' paisely as the background. (JFF H1593) Old Sea Map background is stamped onto (MME) "W.A." khaki with (SU) chocolate chip ink. (JFF D2106) Tall Ship is stamped using the same ink onto (TPC) pastel blue paper. I then used (Spellbinder's S4-189) Labels 3, to "frame" the ship. To give the sails some detail I used (CS) Smooch "moonlight." Like always (CB) Chestnut Roan was used to chalk all the edges. To give the map a rougher texture around the edges I used my "pacman" (edge distresser). Accents from my stash are: hemp, eyelets, brads & pop-up dots behind the frame.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #14
(Monochromatic)

"Shades of Brown---Coffee Beans"

For this challenge the obvious choice for me was Browns. What can I say, I was inspired by my coffee beans. :)

All paper is from (HL), but I don't know the shades, they weren't listed. All stamps are from the Coffee set (JFF UMS7014), and are stamped using Chocoltae chip (SU), except for the coffee bean cluster background; that was stamped using VersaMark (HL). My "window frame" was created using the Large Deckled Rectangles (Spellbinders S4-202). One in brown and cream. The sign was made from the inside pieces of the frames. The coffee beans are in a small bag that I glued to the frame. Pop up dots were used behind the frame, coffee cup and spoon.
Like the "dots" border? It's the backing from a piece of Magic Mesh. I guess it missed the trash can, I found it on my desk and thought "that'd be perfect!" You never know what you'll use!!!
Accents are: Haute ribbon (AC), Cabochons (MR), eyelets (MM) and a button & hemp from my stash.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #13
(Orange, Black & White)

"Moulin Rouge"

So, my first thought for these colors was "Oh no---NOT Halloween colors!" But I have to admit this is one of my favorite cards. :)

Card base is black cardstock, with "Ambrosia" (BG), over it for the background. Can Can (JFF G2447) is stamped using Tuxedo Black (Memento). You HAVE to use this, if you plan on using your (Copic) markers: E01 Pink Flamingo, E29 Burnt Umber, Y06 Yellow & YR09 Chinese Orange. For the "sparkly black" effect I used Stickles (Ranger). Black lace, black ribbon, orange ribbon & button were from my stash. Yes, my orange "flower" is ribbon that I gathered by hand!!! I'm getting to be so creative I'm starting to scare myself! :)

Fancy Tag (Spellbinders S4-235) worked perfect for my Moulin Rouge 2 (JFF A2445) sign. Pop-up dots were added to the sign, and rhinestones (M&MBI) were added for extra bling.

My nephew, Derek is graduating from high school today!!! This is the card and "geico" money I made him for graduation. :)

It's always challenging to make a card for a guy....I can't use all the "bling" I usually do. So I used grey magic mesh, stickers & yes...some ribbon to make the card. Somehow I think he'll like the "geico" money better....but at least I tried to not make a "girly card." :)

Spellbinder's Impressabilites

For this card class we made "impressabilities cards" using 2 different techniques. For the first card, we "inked" the Circles impressability I2-1005, then applied it to our card. Stamp is from Just For Fun WB8010; Label is S4-168 Large Labels. Ribbon, rhinestones and stickles were added for some "bling."

This Pebbles impressability I2-1010 was embossed onto Core`dinations whitewash paper, then sanded, to show the detail. Monogram letter is from MME "Wild Asparagus" line. Lace, ribbon & button were added for detail. Very simple and elegant card I think.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE # 12
(Turquoise, Rust & Cream)

"Coffee"

So to start....I picked the colors this week; then panicked because Sherry actually picked them! Now I actually had to think of something to make using these colors!!! To clarify....I really do love these colors, but when I suggested them I was thinking of a Wild West theme. I have paper from Cosmo Cricket that is "Buffalo Bill" "Calamity Jane"----you get the idea. Anyways....none of my JFF stamps worked with that, so I had to come up with something else entirrely!!!

I found this vintage image from (Crafty Secrets) and it cracked me up---I HAD to use it! :)

The card is an Ivory notecard from (TPS). Ivory/cream...looks the same to me! :) I glued burlap to the card next. On my Terracotta paper from (TPC) I stamped my Coffee Background (H2955, JFF). I used Mediterannean paper also from (TPC) as my accent color. My coffee beans border (UMS7014, JFF) was stamped onto twill tape from (SU). As usual all edges were chalked with chestnut roan (CB). Pop-up dots were used to raise the C.S. image; after it was in place I used liquid glass (CTMH) over the top of the image. Finishing touches were some brads & buttons from my stash.

I am posting my JFF Friday challenge early because #1. I won't be home on Friday, I will be in Ft. Collins, CO., for my brother in laws graduation from CSU. And #2. I can't figure out this "posting delay thing." You are suppose to be able to make a post, but pick a day/time for it to publish. Um....sure! I don't doubt that it's possible-----I just have not figured it out yet. :(

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #11

(Lime Green , Turquoise & Yellow)

"Louvre tag"

In case you haven't noticed I love all things Vintage, Coffee & French----my next few posts, for JFF will reflect that too! :)

For my tag I stamped my "Societe de Louvre" stamp from (JFF, G2713) onto my "Lime green shimmer" paper from (TPC). I then outlined my butterfly in "Azure smooch" from (Colorsnap). After that dried, I added "Scattered straw distress stickles" from (Ranger). I also added Liquid Glass from (CTMH) to the word Louvre. I chalked all my edges in "Chestnut Roan" from (Color Box). "Primary yellow" paper is from (TPC) and my background paper is "Fabulous Petite Vintage" from (CB). Ater everything was glued together with my "permanent mono adhesive" from (Tombo), I punched out the hole in the top of my tag using my "Cropodile" from (We R Memory Keepers), and added ribbon, hemp & a button from my stash. My finishing touches were my "Rhinestones" from (Recollections), placed on my tag.

JUST FOR FUN CHALLENGE #10
(Blue, Orange & Green)

"Pole Swingin' Pin Up"

First of all---NO she is not green! The picture just doesn't show up as well as I would like, nor do the markers. :p

So...for this challenge I got the bright idea of stamping on Window sheets (SU)-----let's just say that while this was a great idea and I could envision how it would go, reality was somewhat different!

I started by covering my $1 doorhanger from (Michaels), this comes in a pack of 3 by the way. :p LOVE their dollar spot!!! Anyways...All paper is from (MME) "Penny Lane," except for the bright Orange cardstock, it's from (TPC). I used sand paper to sand all the edges, then added----guess what? (Color Box) Chestnut Roan chalk to all the edges. I'm so predictable, maybe someday I'll use a different color!

Next I stamped my "pin up gal" from (JFF) UMS7006 onto my window sheet. After drying, I found out that copic markers will wipe away your stamped image! Note to self: "Ask Terre what ink she uses when she stamps and uses her copics." Now that I'm on my second attempt at coloring my stamped image, I flip it over and actually color the back side of it. I can see my image...it is clear after all, and it works!!! :) Happy dance!!!

Now that it's colored I let it dry overnight. Don't know if it needs that much time, but I'm not taking any chances. I used clear half-size mounting squares from (3L), to adhere my window sheet to my paper. "Pin-up saying" also from (JFF) UMS7006 set, is added using pop-up dots. Finishing touches are ribbon, button, hemp & rhinestones from my stash----I really love the bling of the rhinestones on this!!!

"Daisy"

I LOVE the colors this week!!! :) For this card I used Bazzill's "String of Pearls" cut to 6 x6 for my card; edges are rounded on the right. Background paper is Graphic 45's "Fashionista" line---one of my favs.! Lace, pearls, safety pin & pop-up dots are from The Paper Studio; sequin's is from ribbon FX; necklace charm is from Bead Landing. Ribbon & hat pin are from my stash. JFF Stamp is F2483 Daisy, colored with my chalk kit from H. L.; liquid glass from CTMH, is added to hat, belt & shoes. Spellbinder's die is S5-022 Labels 10---one of my new favs.! Pop-up dots (previously mentioned) are placed behind die. All edges are chalked in Chestnut Roan from Color Box.

OMG I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

I have been ready to burst and just tell random people on the street that I am on Just For Fun's design team, since I found out I was chosen. But I have refrained, I've been good and kept quiet. But now I can tell everybody!!!! :)

I am so honored to be chosen for JFF's design team, and I am very excited to be
working with such a talented group of people. I look forward to seeing what everybody designs for the Friday challenges.

Just For Fun Challenge #8
(Blue, Grey & Orange)

"Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring"

I am an Art History buff, and I love this painting by Vermeer, one of my favorites. When I seen that JFF had this stamp I HAD to have it. :) Hope you like the card.

The paper for the card (pastel blue) and background (neutral grey) are both from The Paper Company. I could not find orange paper that I liked, so I made my own. Taking a plain white sheet of paper I used my Color Box (petal point) in Summer Daze, to create various shades of orange on my paper. Starting with the lightest shade I ran that down the middle, going out with gradual darker shades (kind of a beam of light effect). Next I used Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin Up, to stamp my JFF images: G2547 Michaelangelo Background & F2700 Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring. Next I colored the "girl" with my chalk kit from Hobby Lobby. Once everything was stamped/chalked I chalked all the edges with Color Box's Chestnut Roan. For my "bling details" I added Liquid Glass from Close to my Heart to the blue section of the headpiece; lace, ribbon and a pearl (earring) haha :) from The Paper Studio; and an old button & scrap piece of hemp from my stash.

*ALL supplies used (that I know where they are from) are in bold & italic print. Well the bold print didn't show up, so it's pink too! :p

Mother's Day Card

This is My Mind's Eye "Wild Asparagus" paper line----LOVE it!!! Everything is chalked in Chestnut Roan (my fav.). Spellbinder's dies used are: S4-124 Classic Scalloped Circles--Lg, S4-194 Classic Inverted Scalloped Circle--Lg., S4-114 Classic Standard Circle--Lg. (Button is placed on top circle & pop-up dots are used). "Clear circles" around scalloped edge are Robin's Nest eggs. I have no idea where the button & ribbon are from, a friend just gave me a bag full of each. Thanks Ginger! :)

6 x 6 mini Mother's Day page

This time it's K & Company "Classic K Bailey" paper line. Chalk is Chestnut Roan (like usual). In class though, people have the option of using the color they want. Spellbinder's die is S3-004 Symbology. Lace & ribbon are once again the generous donation of my friend Ginger.

Although I made this page for Mother's Day, I did not write that on my page. The picture of my kids is not from Mother's Day, and I could not find one that was on short notice.

Wooden Mother's Day frame
I love making photo frames, and they are really simple to make too!!! This is a $1 wooden frame from Michael's that I glued K & Company's "Classic K Bailey" paper too. Sanded and chalked the edges with Chestnut Roan chalk. Glued lace & ribbon to frame with ribbon glue (buttons too)! Added my charm with a small safety pin and glued rose behind the bow. Spellbinder's die: S5-022 Labels 10, is the tag that is cut out on cream paper and chalked; pearls were added for bling.

As you can see the tag is blank. This was not the picture I wanted to add to the frame, so I did not write anything on my tag yet. (Cute picture though...the blonde on the right is my mom when she was about 5).

I LOVE this card!!! I wanted to make a card using my new Marah Johnson stamps-----and it coordinated perfectly with my Marah Johnson paper collection from "Creative Imaginations."

So, as stated the paper is MJ, that I stamped my MJ stamps onto. I then added Tim Holtz's black stickles & liquid glass to the crown, to give it some bling! Next I added black rhinestones and ribbon (that I stitched together by hand for the ruffled look)----MUST add to the card with ribbon glue. In my opinion it works the best! :) The King of Hearts card is the reverse side to the background paper.....double sided paper, LOVE it! I colored it using watercolor pencils and added some liquid glass as well, it's adhered with pop-up dots. The finishing bling is my key (hanging from the safety pin), and a button. Hope you like it!

I've been trying to figure out ideas for my Mother's Day classes, and I love Victorian stuff---so, not sure if I'll do something like this...but it was still fun playing around with some new ideas.

The background is K & Compmany Classic K tags, I stamped my Victorian boot stamp onto that, and colored it with watercolor pencils. To jazz it up I added lace, ribbon, pearls & liquid glass.

We made 3 projects at our Stampin' Up club meeting last weekend. I always look forward to what Karen comes up with for us to make. :)

Watering Can---so much fun! Karen gave us copies of the pattern, so who knows this might be featured in one of my classes eventually. :) This does take awhile to cut out and put together, but it's so cute, I think it's worth it. Don't you?

Easter Blessing card---looks hard, but it really wasn't. We masked off the cross, inked the card (and blended). Stamped "Easter Blessings," saying and covered in glitter; and stamped the lily onto vellum, embossed and cut out. Stem & leaf are ribbon, lily is added with pop-up dot.

Desk calendar---this has 4 sides, 3 months on each side. Spring, Summer (shown), Fall & Winter. This might show up in a class sometime as well....obviously not for awhile though. We're already down 3 months for this year.

Stampin Up card exchange

I made this Easter card for my S.U. club's card exchange this weekend. You know I love Spellbinder's dies and for this card I used 2 dies from their limited edition Easter line: Easter Borderabilities petite S4-237 & Nested Eggs S4-264.
The card is just yellow cardstock that I cut to 6", and folded in half (a 12 x 12 sheet cut in half & folded), the paper & ribbon are from H.L., I also bought the silver Stickles there (it's on the egg).
So, once I had all my pieces cut out I chalked everything---with my fav. "chestnut roan." :) I started by adding the border to the bottom of the card, ribbon next (you HAVE to use ribbon glue...I tried to use my tape runner, and it fell off. Stayed on when I glued it back on with my ribbon glue though). Next I glued my big egg to the card, added the smaller egg to the card using pop-up dots. Finishing touches were stickles to the eggs, and adding my "little chick" to the egg with a pop-up dot. Do you realize where it came from? Look at the center of the border....when you cut out the border, the chick and the side chicks are your leftovers. :) Never throw away the "leftovers," sometimes they come in handy.

Easter Pail & Tag

I thought it would be cute to make Easter Baskets; but use metal pails instead of the traditional baskets. So, I bought these pails at Hobby Lobby, and added lace and ribbon to them. The printed paper is from H.L., and so is the "grass." The egg tag is Spellbinder's die: S4-264 Nested Eggs & the chick is S4-263 Easter Fun. I added Stikles to the egg, and colored the chick using water color pencils, with liquid glass added to the feet, beak and eye.

I love the way this card turned out! We used Spellbinder's Impressabilities I2-1008 Tulips, and S4-209 Tulip Pendant. For the background, we used Core`dinations paper in purple, and embossed it using the Impressability. Then we sanded it, to really make the tulips stand out. We adhered that to our card front, and cut the card to make it the same size as our impressability; on the side however, we just cut the front of the card, we left the inside the original size and added our coordinating ribbon to the inside edge. Next we cut out our pendant, threaded ribbon through it and attached it to the card. For the pendant center we used the Core`dinations paper once again, sanded it, then added pearls to our card.

We made cards in pastel purple, yellow and blue.

For the 6 x 6 mini album page we used the "Twitterpated" paper collection from Imaginisce. So cute!!! What is awesome about this paper line is the pages are double sided. So you have several combinations that you could use. So for the main page, take a 12 x 12 paper cut into 4- 6 x 6 squares. 1st accent paper is cut to 2 x 6, and glued to page; 2nd accent page is cut to 1 x 6 and glued to bottom of page. We added lace and ribbon next to our page, then used the smallest S4-180 Nested Bird die from Spellbinders, to finish it off.

This picture is of Caden & Deianeira last Easter. So sweet :)

St. Patrick's Day card

This card features Spellbinder's die: S4-136 Classic Heart (that I used to make the Shamrock's with, using core`dinations paper, so the hearts could be sanded for a distressed look). Thanks for the idea Sis!!! :) For this card I used the only St. Patrick's Day print paper I could find...who knew it would be so hard!? Ribbon, rhinestones,and eyelets are used as embellishments.

6 x 6 mini St. Patrick's page

Once again using my only St. Patty's paper, i cut a 12" x 12" green cardstock into 4 6" x 6" squares; same with the print paper (it's just cut in half to make the triangle). Ric-rac & rhinestones were again used as the embellishments, and the Spellbinder's die is: S4-162 Labels 2. This picture is of my daughter again when she was about 4 months old. :)

Valentine Treat Box

I got the pattern for this treat box from my cousin, Karen, and thought it would make a cute Valentine's treat box (it has Dove chocolates inside). So, I traced the pattern onto this Valentine printed paper, cut it out and chalked the edges. The tag is Spellbinder's die: S3-086 Tiny Tags, and I wrote "Be Mine" on it, chalked it, and attached it to the box using some fancy floss.

6 x 6 mini Valentine album page

Using the same Valentine themed paper, I cut a 12 x 12 sheet into 4 6" x6 "squares, cut my accent piece 2" x 6", and added my scalloped paper, ribbon and pearls to that. Spellbinder's die is S5-006 Curved Rectangles (this is the pink accent paper behind the photo). This is a picture of my daughter when she was around 2 years old. Such a cutie! :)

The "tag" card was made using Spellbinder's die: S3-1028 Standard Tag. The tag was made with Core`dinations paper (when it's sanded a lighter shade of pink shows through). "Stamp" paper is from Michaels, and scrap pieces of paper were added to the top and bottom, for additional color. (Never throw scraps away....these are very small pieces of paper, but they worked perfectly)! :) To the image we added liquid glass (cupcake), stickles (saying at bottom) and pearls. We made the envelopes from Mulberry paper and added a stamped saying (again from Michal's $1 spot), and stickles to the heart. Coordinate ribbons to bring out colors in the image.

For the Heart shaped card (Michael's valentine pack), I used die: S4-136 Classic Heart from Spellbinder's, ribbon, stickles, hemp and I added a button. Inside we used the "happy <3 day" stamp again. This card I kept simple, so people could embellish how they liked, using red, pink or white paper, "lips" stamp, and various ribbons. No 2 cards were alike! I think people like having the opportunity to have a base to work from, but to add their own personal touches to it. :)

This is a K & Company calendar kit that I made for my parents for Christmas. (I made my in-laws one as well; same kit, but different photos). I can't believe how awesome this turned out. I love K & Company's "Classic K Bailey" paper set anyways...so this was so cool, making a calendar out of that paper line. Love it!

Christmas Photo Frame

This class was alot of fun! Everyone chose their own paper and accessories to use, so everyone's frame was unique. To start, this is a $1 wooden frame from Michaels, that we covered with sticky adhesive sheets and applied our paper too. We cut the excess off with an exacto knife and sanded and inked all the edges. Our Spellbinder's dies for this project are: S4-220 Nested Pine Trees & S4-085 Snowflake Wonder

"Spidey & Batgirl" aka Caden & Deianiera

You know those "Hi, I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" commercials? That was my inspiration for this project. I made this frame for my brother-in-law, Brian, for Christmas. This is just a plain wooden $1 frame from Michaels that I painted black and covered in spiderweb paper. I sanded the edges, and cut the letters using my Cricut. For the sayings, I printed those out on my computer, and then made "talk bubbles."

6x6 mini Thaksgiving page

This mini album page features the Spellbinder's die: S4-168 Large Labels. It is the frame around the picture. For this page we used 2 different printed papers, ribbon and buttons.

The picture is of my daughter, Deianiera when she was about 1 year old.

6x6 mini Christmas page

Since I did a picture of my daughter, this page is of my son, Caden.

This page has rhinestones, stickles glitter, ribbon, and of course Spellbinders dies. This time we used S4-085 Snowflake Wonder and S3-150 Ribbon Tag trio. (This is a set of 3 tags, previously I used one on the treat box).

Stampin' Up club projects

These were the projects we made at out last Stampin' Up club meeting. I love the dove stamp set (I had to buy it). The ornament is made using a paper punch. You just use ribbon, glue and beads, and put it all together. I really enjoyed this project! Thanks Karen for sharing your wonderful ideas.

Stampin Up Club card exchange

This card was quick and simple! I glued thanksgiving paper to my card, added eyelets to the corners, cut out a tag (and wrote Give Thanks), tied it to the pumpkin using hemp, and used my Spellbinders die: S4-227 Nested Pumpkins (this is the largest one). I then added "lines" to my pumpkin using brown chalk and a q-tip. :)

"Halloween card & 6x6 mini album page"

This card features Spellbinder's die: S4-235 Fancy Tags. For the ghost I used white felt (cut out a ghostly shape), added stickles to the outer edge (halloween pack had purple, orange and black), and wiggly eyes. For the tag I used a halloween stamp and rhinestones.

This is a picture of my husband, Greg. He was the "Mad Scientist" for Halloween, showing all the kids how to make slime.

For the mini album page, I used a versamark pad to stamp my saying and bats, onto the purple paper. I added different papers, black ric-rac and rhinestones, and black photo corners to hold the picture into place. The tag is made using Spellbinders die: Nest-007 Nested Long Classic Rectangles. I couldn't find a number for this one because I have the Nested 4 pack. You can buy it seperately though.

I designed this card for the Crafty Secrets challenge featured on Split Coast Stampers awhile ago....but then my computer died! :( So, I never got to enter it. But here it is for you to see.

I just used some scrap paper and lace (to make the flag), and I used my crop-o-dile to set eyelets, then added some hemp to that. For the maple leaf I used Spellbinders: S4-228 Nested Maple Leaves and I added some Stickles to that. The moose tag is C.S. that I covered in liquid glass, and adhered with pop up dots.

"Pumpkin treat box & gift tag"

The treat box was made using an "open handle box template' and Spellbinder's die: S3-150 Ribbon Tag Trio and S4-102 Fall Harvest. We chalked around all the pieces and used ribbon glue to adhere the ribbon to the box.

For the gift tag we used Spellbinders die: S4-227 Nested Pumpkins. Chalk was again used around the edges (I lvoe chalk). Use a paper punch, thread some embroidery floss through the hole, and you have a gift tag. :)

Yes, the class on the 13 is a repeat. I did not have a big turnout for the first class, and I've had requests to re-do it since some people were unable to attend. So, we're doing it again.

Also, you may have noticed the info. for the class on the 20 is blank. I am in the process of coming up with an idea to do for that one. If anyone has specific requests for projects, let me know. I'll see what I can do to accomadate that. As always...projetcs will be made using Spellbinder's Wizard and Dies.

Creative Crafts (Card making class 2)

The sunflower card features #S4-202 Deckled rectangles ~ Lg & S5-004 Sunflower Garden (I just used the sunflower and leaf).

For this card, the sunflower was made using mulberry paper---it is awesome to chalk on! Also used were: clear jewlery bags, sunflower seeds & magic mesh.

The apple tree card features #S4-124 Classic Scalloped Circles ~ Lg & #S4-114 Classic Standard Circle ~ Lg.

This card features "sewing scraps"---bias tape, lace & buttons, stuff everyone has, but maybe has not thought of using on a card. For the "fall leaves" effect I used Marvy Markers to color the leaves different shades. (You can also just use green to help balance all the red).
